1 oz approx. Caron One Pounder worsted weight 4 ply Black yarn

Sizing: approx. size 4

You can make any color combination you would like.  I did 10 rows pink, 2 rows black, 10 rows pink, 2 rows black, 10 rows pink, 1 row black and then the edging.  I alternated colors on edging, but you can do whatever you wish with the colors.

Row 1: Ch 112, sc in 4th ch from hook. *Skip 2 sts, 3d in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st. Repeat from *, ending skip 2 sts, sc in last ch. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in first sc, *sc in center dc of 3dc set from the previous row, 3dc in next sc. Repeat from *, ending with sc in turning ch. Ch 2, turn.

Row 3-35: Repeat Row 2.

Row 36: Edging: Ch 3, sc in next st. Repeat across.

Row 37: Edging: Ch 3, turn, sc in next st. Ch 3, sc across.

Row 38-39: Edging: Repeat Row 37. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Turn inside out and sew up the seam including edging.  Fasten off and weave in ends.

I use elastic on all my daughter’s clothes. So I take the ¼ inch elastic, measure it to my daughter and cut. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the first row of the skirt. Fasten off and weave in ends. Here's a tutorial on how I do this. click here
