Birthday Gift Bag

Materials used:
1 skein 7 ozs white (I believe I used about 4 ozs)
1 skein 7 ozs navy blue  (I believe I used about 4 ozs)
1 skein 7 ozs royal blue  (I believe I used about 4 ozs)
Scrap novelty yarn...my didn't have a paper on it.  I believe it was JoAnn's brand of Cello.  It's longer than fun fur.  Any novelty fur yarn would work.

Hook: K

Measurements: 11 1/2" tall by 16 1/2" wide
I used the 3 strands at the same time to make this bag.

Row 1: Ch 30, 2hdc in 4th ch from hook, hdc down the chain. In last st, work 6hdc, then turn and work hdc down the other side of chain, sl st tog.

Rows 2: Ch 2, 2hdc in next 2 sts.  Hdc in next 26sts, 2hdc in next 2 sts, hdc, 2hdc in next 2sts, hdc in next 26 sts, 2hdc in next 2 sts, sl st tog.

Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in each st around. Sl st tog to 1st hdc, not the ch 2.  This pulls it tog to not leave a hole.

Rows: 4-17: Rep Row 3.

Row 18: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Sl st tog to first sc.  Fasten off and weave in ends.

Straps: make 2
Leave a 8" tail for sewing to the bag, ch 50.  Fasten off leaving a 8" tail.

Sew to bag on either side on the inside.  Look at picture for guidance.  You can make these straps longer or shorter depending on your preference.

I took a H hook and turn the bag around so the I was looking at the inside.  Then sc the novelty yarn on the last row of the bag, fasten off and weave in ends.  Finger fluff the novelty yarn to fluff it out.
